Happy Friday, friends -
I hope you've all had a great week! I'm so excited to finally be sharing our updated master bedroom tour with you! Next month will be two years since we've been in the lovely cottage and I must say, it's taken that long to design this space the way we want it. We still have a couple of things to do in this room for it to feel complete, but our new Essex Bed from Maiden Home was a huge step in the right direction. (You may remember our Living Room Tour with Maiden Home, as well - we love supporting + staying loyal to brands we believe in!) Our bedroom gets a ton of morning light, which we love, so our goal has always been to keep this space light, airy, neutral, and minimal. The moment we laid our eyes on this bed we knew it would completely change our space. We love the straight lines, giving us that minimal, farmhouse feel we crave, but decided to go with the Creme Performance Linen Fabric to give us that soft, Parisian touch. The Essex is a bit more modern too, with it's straight legs, and we went with the Washed Oak for a natural + causal finish to complete our custom bed. Maiden Home just launched their bedding collection about 2 months ago and we're proud to say that The Lovely Cottage was the first home to have one of their beautiful, new beds!
We're still looking for the perfect French piece for above the headboard, we're considering having our couch recovered with something a little warmer, and a couple of other updates to give this space more character and we will be officially finished. (For now!) Design is such a process - not only the investment, but also getting it just right takes time. Especially when sourcing vintage pieces, it's one of those 'you just know' moments when you finally find the right thing. We move pieces around often and sometimes, it just takes seeing it in your space to know if it's right or not. It was (and is) so important to us that our bedroom is our little escape from the rest of the world and we're so intentional about filling it with things that make us feel that. We love waking up here, looking out the windows and seeing the chicken coop + our garden, turning on the fireplace on a cool night (my one request that I begged for within this room), and hiding out in this space on the weekends. Home is our favorite place to be and this room is the perfect place to start + finish our days together.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a beautiful weekend - CHEERS!
Meg
