While we were in the Hamptons last weekend, we spent a full day at Gurney's Resort in Montauk. To say we loved every second of it is an understatement! We started the day by meeting the owner, George, who was super nice and down-to-earth. He gave us a full tour of the resort and then showed us to the brand new Gurney's Residences. Let me just say - oh. my. gosh. If I could have immediately moved in, I would have! Everything from the view to the decor was absolutely breathtaking! (If you follow me on snapchat, @meganrunionmcr, you got a BTS tour!) The home we went in was the model that has only been completed now for a couple of weeks, so they had a designer come in and stage each and every room to absolute perfection. The neutral color palette was a dream, the beachy decor was on point, and the overall space was just so quaint and relaxing. I was snapping photos the entire time of details I found throughout the rooms that I want to replicate. Then there was the view from the top balcony and it was to die for! Not only can you fit an entire eight person table on it, but you can also see ALL of Gurneys private beach club. It was simply perfection.
After the tour of the Residences, we found our spot on the beach. (You can see an overall view of the beach club here from my instagram) As most of you know, being by the water and in the sunshine are two of my absolute favorite things, so I was definitely in my happy place. We immediately ordered a bottle of rosè, a few apps, and invited a couple of our friends to join us at the beach. We had the best day just relaxing by the water and enjoying the amazing view! Everyone told me that the water would be way too cold to fully get in without it taking your breath, but I was bound and determined I was going to do it. I mean, when in the Hamptons, right?! So I did and it was totally worth it. A shock, yes. But, so worth it!
After getting cleaned up, we ended our night at one of Gurney's amazing restaurants, Scarpetta. Our friends had eaten there before and raved about how amazing it was, so we had to try it. We're always game for trying out a new place! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. We started with one of their specialty cocktails called 'Rosè All Day' (right up my alley, right?!) and finished the night with the most amazing bottle of cab. We ordered everything from duck to truffle pasta to spaghetti and we all had to get a little taste from everyone's plate. The food was to die for and again, that view! Watching the sun set over the water that evening and feeling the breeze turn cool as it got darker was literally my favorite part of our whole trip. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good sunset + view!
If you make it to the Hamptons, Gurney's is an absolute must. We're already planning a trip to go back to Montauk in the Fall because I can image how beautiful it would be with the leaves changing and falling off the trees + cooler days and wrapping up in cozy sweaters. I'm thinking our anniversary may be the perfect time! A big thank you to Gurney's for showing us an amazing time by the water!
Thanks so much for stopping by! xx.
