My Favorite Beach Necessities

1 - Straw Hat {$26} - How cute is this floppy hat?!  It's the perfect dupe for the famous Eugenia Kim hats, but a fraction of the price!  I don't typically tan my face (I wear complexion rescue on the beach, too), so a straw hat is such a necessity!

2 - SunBum Sunscreen - Always, always, always protect your skin!  I made the mistake of not doing this as much as I should've early on, so I'm extra careful now.   The Sunbum line is my favorite for a smooth, even application and never breaks me out.

3 - Chic Sunnies - Enough said, right?!  Let's be serious, I've been an aviator girl ever since LC rocked them on Laguna Beach and I don't think I'll ever change.  They're perfect for so many outfits and occasions, but the beach is just a no brainer.

4 - Coconut Chapstick - I'm a lip fanatic!  I put chapstick on about 20 times a day, as well as each night before bed.  It's one of those things that once you start, you can never stop.  I just looove the soft, moisturizing feeling it gives your lips and it's perfect for sun protection, too.  (Sidenote - my favorite is the coconut!)

5 - Jelly Sandals - One thing that I've forgotten a bit since being on a Carolina beach is how HOT the sand is.  From the moment we get off the golf cart to the moment we make it to the shore is like pure torture if you're barefoot.  A chic pair of jelly sandals takes me right back to 1999, but the new and improved, rockstud version, of course. :)

Since I'm vacationing this week with my family, I thought I would share five of my must-have beach necessities with you!  I'm an early riser, so I like to wake up, sit on the front porch with a cup of coffee, get a few things ready for the day and hit the beach by 10am.  We pack our lunch, take a huge cooler full of drinks and plan to not leave the shore until around 6pm.  Let me just tell you - I haven't put on make up or dried my hair in over 48 hours and it's literally a dream life!  Sometimes a break from the norm is so necessary and I'm enjoying every second of beach life this week!
