Charleston Getaway

Good Morning Dolls!
Happy Thursday!  Just think, one more work day after today and we’re already back to the weekend.  One of my favorite things in life is to simply  get outta town!  J and I decided on a whim to go on a quick getaway trip to Charleston this past weekend.  When we were dating, one of the first things we did together was go on a day trip to Charleston.  We had the most perfect day together and that was the first time I actually knew that this was the man I wanted to spend my life with—so I joke and call it “our love place”.  Anytime we can clear our schedules and sneak off somewhere, we take advantage of it and head to Charleston.  We love everything about the city from the food to the charm to the history. (And of course, the shopping for me!)  This trip was quick, but nonetheless full of fun and laughter.  We ate at a couple of our favorite restaurants: Magnolia’s on East Bay Street and Jim and Nick’s on King Street, did a little shopping on King and the Market, toured the Calhoun Mansion on Meeting Street and, got a little rest back at the Hotel.  The photographer in J loves to walk the old cobblestone roads taking tons of photos so we tend to do a lot of that, which is totally relaxing in every sense of the word.  Of course since it’s not summer, we couldn’t lay out on the beach all day like we would’ve loved to, but we did go!  We were the only troopers not in Ugg Boots—we were barefoot. In February. At 8 o’clock in the morning.  (Note to self: Next time, wear Uggs.)  It was freezing, but completely worth it!  To me, there’s no better view in the world than standing on the shore watching the waves crash.  I’m a beach girl, it’s where I belong. :)  Here are a few pictures from our lovely trip!
