RINGING IN 2022

Happy New Year!!  Wow, we're five days in and it's so hard to believe that it's already 2022.  Historically, I have this post written days ahead of the New Year, complete with intentions + resolutions for the year upon us.  Well, if the last couple of years have taught me anything it's that intentions and well-laid plans are great.  Beautiful, even.  However, they're not always realistic.  Because I am such a planner, oftentimes I feel like I'm not setting myself up for success by immediately putting pressure on myself to do better and more.  We're starting the new year with a bit of chaos - ripping out our kitchen and starting a remodel as of today!!  We're so excited for a project that feels like it's been 5 years in the making!  Although, I will say, I'm always a bit 'off' when my house is in disarray.  Something about the mess makes me feel so all over the place mentally, but it will be so worth it.  We've done our best to line up every possible thing ahead of time so it can be as efficient and streamlined as possible.  Anyway, nothing like kicking things off with a bang! That said, my mind has been so preoccupied and I've focused more on checking realistic boxes rather than setting goals or intentions.  Top of mind: all I'm focused on for the time being is staying organized, protecting our peace at home, not overbooking ourselves with busyness, taking a little time out of each day for selfceare + stillness, and leaning into change.  Sometimes in life, the best you can do is to take things one day at a time.  Focus on what's right in front of you, rather than what's to come and be present within that.  For 2022, that's my sole intention.I know I've said this on instagram, but thank you for being here.  I feel like the social media world and this world are different and those of you who continue to come back to this space year after year mean so much to me.  This is always the place I'll pour into most.  The place I can be the most vulnerable and the place that I have full, creative control over.  Almost ten (yes, ten) years later, I can wholeheartedly say it still brings me so much joy and you all are such a huge part of that.  Thank you for loving + supporting us, encouraging us when we need a push, and showing up for the day-to-day. We love doing life with you and can't thank you enough for your presence here.Cheers to the New Year - we love you!J, M + L
