PACKING FOR A NEWBORN / LINEN'S FIRST TRIP

A few weeks ago, we packed the car and headed south to one of our favorite homes away from home - The Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee in Reynolds, Georgia.  Linen was 8 weeks old and we finally felt like we could get out of town for a few days.  Newborn life is so wonderful for so many reasons and I have loved staying close to home these last few weeks, but a change of scenery was just what we needed. Reynolds is a place we visit often and because it's so family-friendly, we felt like it was the perfect place for Linen's first trip!  Fast forward another 4 weeks, and we just got back from her second trip to Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina - it was so perfect.  An easy drive away and surrounded by sweet friends that were so helpful.  Now, with Linen being 3 months old and having already packed her once before, I felt much more confident in making sure we had everything we needed for a few days away.  After sharing the two trips on instagram, many of you asked me to compile a checklist of what I packed for her to help when packing up your little ones!  While gathering things around the house, I found it easiest to categorize by day and night time items.  Of course, the items may vary based on how you're feeding and the age of your baby, but I hope this helps! For starters, we got Linen the baby Away carry-on, knowing that we wanted her to travel with us as much as possible!  We want to be safe, of course, but J and I made a goal to try and take 15 trips with her during her first year.  We think it's really important for her to get out of her comfort zone and used to being on-the-go, so the baby Away bag was such a good investment.
