FINALLY! Designing + creating Linen's nursery was such a labor of love and I truly poured my heart into it. I wanted each and every piece to be thoughtful and intentional so I curated a space that was just that. From the moment we knew we were having a girl, I knew I wanted a French Garden themed nursery for her. A neutral, feminine and functional space that we would enjoy spending time in. I wanted linen (the fabric) to be a consistent theme throughout, as well as a mix of vintage + new pieces that would give her room character, like the rest of our home. We started with this beautiful, vintage cabinet that was passed down to us from John's grandmother and built the space around it. From the moment we placed that piece in her room, I envisioned it full of cozy, neutral linens and vintage baskets categorizing her sweet accessories. The sentiment and design of the French antique inspired the entire space and it came together so perfectly. Everything from the cane detail on the crib + changing table and the layered rugs to the moody, floral art and cozy lamp light - I wanted it to be a space she would feel inspired by and safe in.I assumed I would finish the nursery before Linen arrived, but in true J + Meg fashion, we kept thinking it wasn't quite complete. We added a few final details, like the hat I wore in our maternity photos and styling a few shelves, and finally felt like the room came together perfectly. About that time, Linen arrived and the room quickly became full of dirty laundry, a full diaper pail, and disorganized chaos, so it took me the full 8 weeks to finally be able to share this space with you!! Whether it's the middle of the night or first thing in the morning as the light pours in - I look around this room and it feels so special. The vintage pieces that have so much meaning because of what they are and who they're from, the cozy textures that go from floor to ceiling, and the functionality gives this space such life.It's a room we've prayed over endlessly, poured out heart + souls into creating, and now, welcomed our little one into.
