A couple of weeks ago, I stole my mom away and we headed to Charleston for a few days by the water. We both had a couple of high-stress weeks prior and decided an impromptu girls trip was just what we needed.
Hotel Bennett opened earlier this year and sadly I wasn't able to be in Charleston for the opening celebration, but staying there as soon as possible was at the top of my list!
From the perfect King Street location to the French-inspired decor,
Hotel Bennett is beyond dreamy. My mom and I checked in and literally - both of our jaws dropped when we walked into our suite. Built-in bookshelves, a cozy bed, a huge bathroom with floor-to-ceiling marble, and a bottle of champagne just waiting to be popped! It somewhat reminds me of The Plaza in New York, yet southern, which I absolutely love.
My favorite thing about the Bennett is hands down the rooftop. There's a big, rooftop bar that feels very nautical meets Ralph Lauren. Cozy, yet light and airy. Just outside the large french doors, there's a beautiful rooftop pool surrounded by cabanas and lounge chairs. We had the best day relaxing by the pool with beautiful views of downtown Charleston right in front of us!
My second favorite thing about the hotel is
Camellias - a champagne + caviar bar right inside the lobby of the Bennett. Virginia, Mr. Bennett's mom, inspired the bar and together, they thought of every single detail. The custom wallpaper with camellias, pink chairs, and metallic accents set the feminine mood perfectly - it's the perfect place to meet your girlfriend for brunch or happy hour! And of course, they have my absolute favorite champagne - Veuve Clicquot. Done and done!
As I mentioned before,
Hotel Bennett is located on King Street in the middle of Charleston's Historic Downtown. There are so many amazing restaurants and shops within walking distance from the hotel. The Bennett also has a restaurant within their lobby, Gabrielle, an additional bar beside Camellias that you can pop into for a night cap, and La Pâtisserie, a full coffee bar within the hotel that offers french baked goods and light bites. Other than heading to the beach, we barely left the hotel - they have everything you need! On that note, our favorite beach is Sullivan's Island, but whichever Charleston beach you love on either side of the peninsula is only about a 20-25 minute drive from the hotel.
Charleston is our favorite home away from home and J and I love to have a rolodex of go-to places that we pop into each time we're in town. After experiencing the Bennett for a few days, I'm already looking forward to going back! My mom and I had the best trip and I can't wait for J to see the hotel next time we're in Charleston - he will be all about that rooftop situation! If you're traveling to Charleston soon, make sure The Bennett is on your list - you won't be disappointed!Outfit details:Swimsuit Top | Swimsuit Bottoms | Button-Down Shirt | Sweater | Skirt | Sunglasses | Roman Numeral Necklace | Best Friend NecklaceJ and I just landed in sunny Mexico this morning and we're so excited to be here! We haven't been on a relaxing trip, just the two of us, in over 5 years so we're so thankful for a few days away. More on our trip and where we're staying really soon - have a great day and as always, thank you for stopping by!MegThank you to Hotel Bennett for partnering on this post + our stay - all opinions are my own.
