5 BOUJIE ITEMS FOR YOUR HOME THAT ARE ACTUALLY WORTH THE MONEY
Let's be serious, we all get caught up in wanting the little luxuries in life that fill our Pinterest pages and Instagram feeds. Or wait, is that just me? Bueller...Bueller...
Moving on - sometimes it's hard to know what's simply 'hype' and what's worth the splurge. So today, I want to share five 'boujie' things with you that are totally worth every penny, in my opinion. These are my can't live without things for the home that make my materialistic little heart so happy. (Just kidding, sort of.)
NO. ONE // DYPTIQUE 'BAIES'
These candles are my absolute FAVORITE. Any size, for any room, any day of the week, I absolutely love this scent. Not only do these candles burn for quite some time, the fragrance fills your space almost immediately. Within 10-15 minutes your entire house will smell amazing. I've tried a few other scents by Diptyque and love a lot of them, but 'Baies' will always be my OG, numba one. (Sidenote: I order this set to keep on hand for gifts! When you're running out the door to a last minute birthday dinner, need a housewarming gift on the fly, or simply to give a girlfriend as a surcie, this set is perfect!)
NO. TWO // JO MALONE SOAP
If I had to choose just ONE of these things for the rest of my life, I'm not going to lie - I think it would be this soap. Every single person who comes to my house and uses it, dies over it. It smells so good and keeps your hands smelling amazing for hours afterwards. The 'Blackberry + Bay' scent is by far my favorite. I have the candle, the hand lotion, the bath oil, the bar soap - all of it in the BB scent and I'm obsessed. And you know my germophobe self washes my hands at least 15+ times a day! Again, worth every penny.
NO. THREE // VEUVE CLICQUOT
Because my motto in life is to 'celebrate everything' - having Veuve Clicquot on hand at all times is just good for the soul. It's also really fun when you have a few girlfriends over for happy hour and pop a bottle on a Tuesday, simply because you're an adult...and you can. (Insert all the high-five emojis!) Whether I'm celebrating with J, over happy hour with the girls, or gifting a bottle to a sweet friend, having a bottle of your favorite champagne on hand at all times is never a bad idea.
NO. FOUR // FASHION BOOKS
When it comes to decorating, styling books with candles + flowers is probably the easiest, yet chicest trick of the trade. I started my fashion book collection about 4 years ago and love each and every one. They're in all rooms, all different designers, all different {neutral} colors, and all different shapes + sizes. Books add such a cozy element to a room and investing in a collection that's specific to you is so fun. Whether it be fashion, home decor, cooking, travel, or... chickens - coffee table books are worth the money upfront to enjoy for years to come.
NO. FIVE // CHIC SERVING PIECES
Bowls | Platters | Glasses | Beverage Dispenser | Cheese Board | Serving Utensils | Linen Napkins | Serving Stand | Vintage Wooden Spoons + Cutting Board | Gold Flatware
Ok, so this one may not be a boujie as the others, but it is super important to me to have chic pieces to entertain with. Pieces that compliment each other, your space, your style, AND are practical can take a couple of years to cultivate. When we entertain, I love pulling out all of my bowls, platters, serving utensils, glasses, cake stands, cheese boards, etc. and putting them to good use. In my opinion, a pretty tablescape is all about two things: fresh flowers + what's surrounding them (aka, what you're serving on). Also, when it comes to investing in pieces you'll love + use for years to come, always go neutral and plain. Busy prints or colors are typically trendy and fade out just like that Hawaiian shirt your dad needs to throw away. My advice - stick to the basics and purchase pieces in twos. It creates symmetry for your tablescape and allows you to use your pieces no matter the season or theme.
What's your one "boujie" must-have that you can't live without at home? I'd love to know!
Thanks so much for stopping by, X.
