DC ROUND UP // #TRAVELWITHLOVELY
On Sunday, my bestie and I took off for a quick getaway to one of my favorite cities - Washington, DC. We fit in as much as we possibly could - explored around the city, hit all of my favorite restaurants, drove out to the country, winery hopped, walked through museum after museum, and stayed in a new, luxe hotel in the city. It was such a fun girls getaway and I wanted to share a few of my favorite outfits + trip details!
First things first, we hit the ground running and roamed around the White House, Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the Reflection Pool. It was the most beautiful day out, so this outfit was perfectly comfortable + chic!
After brunch at my favorite spot, Le Diplomate, we rented a Jeep, took the top off and headed to Virginia. We checked into L'Auberge Provencale for the night and started with winery hopping. The owner of the Inn was so kind to drive us around, pack a charcuterie board picnic for us, and gave us a ton of history on the property + surrounding areas. After returning to the B&B, we headed straight to eat at their on-site restaurant, Le Table, and enjoyed a quaint, delicious dinner. A couple of glasses of red wine + lots of laughter later, we crashed for the night. If you're heading to DC or Virginia anytime soon, this time of year is so beautiful to drive out to the country for a night or two. The Inn has a lovely package (the one we did) including winery hopping, a picnic, dinner for two, and a cozy night in, falling asleep to the sound of crickets.

After driving back into the city, we headed straight for one of my favorite rooftop views EVER - POV on top of the W Hotel. Standing on this rooftop overlooking the city, I couldn't help but feel so moved. Seeing all of the flags at half-staff was so surreal and made me feel so thankful for the little things in life. Celebrating every moment, loving hard, and enjoying life to the fullest.

On Monday afternoon, we checked into the newly renovated Watergate property and spent the remainder of our trip at the brand new hotel there. The history that surrounds that area is so interesting and the updated, mid-century decor makes you feel like you're literally in the early 70's when Nixon was President. They also have an amazing rooftop with stunning views of Georgetown and the Potomac on one side the Washington Monument on the other.

On Tuesday, we spent the morning in Georgetown, shopping + brunching, and the afternoon museum hopping. We went into 6 of the Smithsonian's and each was incredible. On a side note, I love how this corset top turns a casual, basic look into a super chic outfit. It's only $40 and so cute for Fall + Winter!

On our last morning at the hotel and before flying out, we slept in + soaked up every minute of our last few hours. As most of you know, morning coffee is my favorite and enjoying it at The Watergate was no different. Breathtaking views from our balcony, windows open and the morning chill blowing through our room, and coffee + room service breakfast - it doesn't get any better than that!
