CURAÇAO #TRAVELWITHLOVELY

From the moment we got off the plane, Curaçao immediately stole our hearts!  The car service picked us up and we drove through the most beautiful city, right into the gates of the Santa Barbara Beach Resort.  Upon arrival, we were greeted by the nicest staff and immediately felt so welcome.  After a brief tour of the property, we checked into our suite and made ourselves at home!  With a stunning view of the water and five days of sunshine ahead of us, our hearts were happy to say the least.
After unpacking, we threw on our bikinis and headed straight for the water!  The beach and water in Curaçao can be summed up in one word: stunning.  I've seen so many beaches while traveling the last few years, and I can honestly say there's nothing like it.  The resort offers complimentary paddle boards and kayaks for adventuring out on the water + beach service that will bring you a 'Santa Barbara Sunset' and chicken quesadilla while doing so.  We spent most of our days relaxing while getting tan lines, ordering cocktails, and cooling off in the clear water!
Right beside the beach is a marina where boats are docking throughout the day.  When we needed to stretch our legs, we would take a walk down to the dock, swoon over all of the beautiful boats, and take in the beautiful scenery surrounding us.
After a few hours on the beach each day, we looked forward to the breathtaking sunsets each night.  The cotton candy sky that reflected off the water night after night was by far one of my favorite 'highs' of the trip.
The resort has three different restaurants that are amazing, but they also offer 24 hour room service.  We were craving pizza so badly one night and decided to order in and dine in bed.  Pizza + cab is always our go-to, so we felt right at home!
On that same note, the breakfast was to DIE for!  We had the option of ordering room service or walking down to the nearby restaurant to dine outside, so we did both throughout the week.  Our room had a beautiful balcony, overlooking the water, so that was a lovely place to eat, too!  We constantly ordered the french toast, bacon, and fresh fruit - you all know pineapple + bacon is my jam.

The best thing about the resort was how casual you could be all day and night.  We lived in our swimsuits and cut offs throughout the day and traded out our bikini tops for something a little dressier at night for dinner.
The views around the resort pretty much consist of two things - water and palm tress.  I wouldn't have it any other way!  It's such a refreshing feeling to walk out of your room to salty air, waves crashing, and palm trees blowing in the wind.  Even though it's hard to capture the beauty of the property, I was constantly stopping to snap photos.
Driving into the nearby town only takes about 25-30 minutes via taxi, so we wanted to see as much as we possibly could.  A couple of days during our trip, the resort arranged transportation for us and we were off to explore.  We tried to find all of the touristy spots to check off our lists, but ended up stumbling upon the cutest, little bar, full of locals who knew all the best spots.  This bar looked like something right out of 'Eat Pray Love' and ended up being our go-to spot all week.  After getting a few recommendations from the locals, we had new must-see spots on our list that we couldn't wait to hit up.

Between the beautiful views, sandy beaches, and endless drinks at the resort + exploring the town of Curaçao, we never wanted to leave.  I was fully prepared to call J and have him, Lola, and Gibson on the next flight out - I loved it THAT much.  McKenna and I had the best trip and can't wait to go back!
