Happy TGIT, lovelies! I wanted to share a quick round up of a few NYC snaps + outfit details from our trip! This was my look for day one for a couple of shows, the Kate Spade Presentation, and a meeting at The Plaza Hotel. It was really cold, with so much snow on the ground, so layers and cozy textures were a must. The city is SO pretty in the snow!
The Club Monaco Presentation was held at their Flagship Store on 5th Avenue and was absolutely amazing! It was by far my favorite presentation we attended this season. Fresh flowers everywhere, floral prints mixed with black throughout, and a long table stretching the entire length of the store full of champagne, apps, and sweets. Dreamy, right? Ruffle top is HERE, as well as the SKIRT, SHOES, and EARRINGS.
I snapped this photo of The Plaza Hotel while walking through Central Park one day. I've always had a thing for birds and I thought this was a really pretty, still moment to capture. Plus, we're all fully aware of my Plaza Hotel obsession. I literally can't go in there without reciting every single Home Alone quote I know. Yes, I'm that girl. :)
Leather Jacket: All Saints | Camo Denim: Zara {exact pair here} | Boots: Stuart Weitzman {my favorites, so comfortable!} | Handbag: Gucci | Tank: Anine Bing | Scarf: Calypso {old, exact similar here}
I wore this look while running around to meetings one day. It was so hard to walk in the snow, sleet, and salt in heels, so these boots were my saving grace. Layers on layers were a must for staying warm! I have to admit, we went to three meetings and one presentation, then called it a day and stopped for a cocktail. We saw this cute, really old bar (it looked like it was something from a Western movie, in the middle of NYC, so you know I was all about it) called Keens and it was great. It's been there for over 110 years and we loved hearing the history about it from the bartender. We want to go back sometime for dinner!
One of our favorite spots to stop for coffee is Ralph's on 5th Avenue. Their latte's are amazing and it's the perfect set up for snapping a chic instagram. #bloggerlife
Coat: Club Monaco | Top: Project Social | Leggings: Revolve {thick + warm with a velvet stripe down the side!} | Boots: Sorel {these saved my life!} | Handbag: Chanel {dupe here}
Strolling through Central Park with my love. This was J's first time going to Central Park and he absolutely loved it. I don't think he stopped taking photos the entire time and snapped a few absolutely beautiful shots. This is by far, one of our favorite days together - casual, snow on the ground, and carefree.
Strolling through snowy Soho on the day we arrived! After two cancelled flights, an unexpected flight into New Jersey, and an uber ride into the city, our bags didn't make it. We had three appointments that afternoon/evening that we really wanted to make, so we ventured out into the blizzard to try to find something I could wear (other than my travel outfit). However, the joke was on us because so many things were closed and it was literally FREEZING. Haha, so we ended up ordering delivery and staying in our warm hotel that night, which I was not sad about! NYC is so beautiful in the snow, though. The city is so crazy with traffic, construction, and consumed with people so the snow just puts this beautiful, fresh white layer over everything. As cold and stressful as it was, we loved every minute of it.
This photo is from the FRAME Denim Presentation! Their collection is always so beautiful, full of closet staple pieces and neutrals, which you know is right up my alley. We were able to go backstage to see the models get ready and it was a really fun experience. I can't wait to shop the new collection!
One of my absolute favorite things we did was go to The Plaza Hotel rooftop terrace. We were at The Plaza for a meeting that was held in one of the Penthouse Suites, so J and I grabbed a bottle of champagne and headed to the terrace. It was covered in snow, way above my boots, but the view of the city was absolutely breathtaking.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a MAJOR obsession with macarons. Especially from Ladurèe. There's nothing better in the world in my opinion! J and I had lunch there in Soho one day and he absolutely loved it. It was walking distance from our hotel, 11 Howard, so he walked there one morning and brought this back to me in bed. I mean, let me tell you - it doesn't get much better than John Runion. He really is the absolute best. And he knew all of my favorite flavors, salted caramel, chestnut, praline, chocolate, and vanilla. ALL the praise hands!
This photo was taken on the same terrace I mentioned above. You can sort of see how much snow is on the ground by the way it's covering the rails - so much snow!! (Outfit details are on the first image.)
And last, but not least, J and I decided 'when in NYC' to get matching tattoos. We've been thinking about this for a year or two, and when we noticed there was a really nice place beside our hotel, we just went for it. More details on that here!
I'll be sharing a part TWO of our NYC trip soon, complete with more outfit details and all of our favorite places we popped into, so stay tuned!
Thanks so much for stopping by, xx.
