When thinking about what to wear for the 4th of July each year, my outfit always revolves around my plans.  Most of the time, I'm at the beach because John and I love to go sailing in Charleston for the 4th.  However, this year, we're going to be out of town through the 3rd, so we'll spend Saturday here in Greenville with our family.  Anyways, I'm sure I'll spend the day by the pool, but we've planned a big family cookout for dinner.  I've always had a thing for plaid, but typically think of it as more of a Fall/Winter print.  But, when I saw this red, white and blue button up, I knew it would be perfect with a pair of white, distressed shorts.  The material is thin (but not see-through) so it's definitely not super hot and perfect for an evening occasion.  Throwing on a red lip dresses the look up a bit and feels festive at the same time! 

P.S. - I also just bought this red mini skirt + white crop top, last seen here, if you're looking of a fun, festive outfit that's a little different!
