A Little Fash Blvd...

Good Morning Loves,

Like most of you who follow my blog, I too am a sucker for Fashion Blogs.  One of my favorite daily reads is Fash Boulevard.  Anna is an amazing blogger who has such a great story that a lot of girls can relate to.  I found her blog through LaurenConrad.com, another one of my favorite reads, and have fallen in love with it.  After only creating her blog a little over a year ago, Fash Boulevard has nearly 5500 followers and Anna has had the opportunity to collaborate with Designers such as Lauren Conrad, Macys, Kohls, Glamour, Teen Vogue, College Lifestyles Magazine, Brink Magazine, Giuseppe Zanotti, Alexis Bittar, OPI, Shoemint, Jewelmint, Fibi and Clo New York, Bar 111, ASOS, Melissa Joy Manning, Caroline Cree, Frock Candy, Shoe Dazzle, 31 Bits, and more.  Not only does she have an awesome fashion sense, her posts are fun and inspiring.  I recently had the opportunity to interview Anna and she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out.  So sweet, humble and easy to talk to.  I asked her five random questions that I thought my followers would be interested to read and know:

1.) What inspired you to become a Fashion Blogger?
I first got the idea to start a blog while I was interning at BCBG Max Azria headquarters in LA. I had just graduated from Auburn University, and was thousands of miles away from my family, walking wide-eyed through this incredibly surreal opportunity. I felt like I was living in a movie and instantly started toying with the idea of documenting it through a blog. When the internship ended I landed a major visual merchandising job with a New York based company and the idea of starting a blog was put on the back burner. At 22 I found myself in charge of 7 brands throughout 26 Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s in Southern California. As hectic and demanding as the job was, I would find myself spending my free time thinking about what I really wanted out of life. I had these fabulous dreams that I knew I could reach, but I just didn’t know how. The blog was always in the back of my mind, but I knew there was no way I could put the time into it that it would need with such a crazy schedule. Then a week before Christmas, the company unexpectedly let the entire visual department go. Returning home wasn’t an option, so instead of feeling sorry for myself, I decided to create a brand that would someday allow me to fulfill all my goals. Fash Boulevard was the first step and I’ve been so blessed with the amount of opportunities that have come from it.

2.) What is your favorite color to wear and why?
My favorite color is plum purple, but my favorite color to wear is probably yellow, especially during the summer. It always adds a bright pop and despite popular belief, I think it looks great on blondes.

3.) What is the most expensive item in your closet that you adore?
My Lydia dress by Rachel Zoe. It was close to $500, but extremely wearable. The hidden details lend to endless style opportunities, which is super key when breaking the bank for fashion. (here + here)

4.)When do you create your blog posts and how much time do you put in to it each week?
Fash Boulevard and building the Fash brand is a seven day a week  job, ranging between 10 to 12 hours a day. Whether I'm working on one of the various Fash columns I write for magazines, guest blogging for Lauren Conrad, or meeting with designers, there's not an hour in the day that's not Fash dedicated. Because projects and business trips pop up every day it's important that I'm prepared ahead of time so I try to stay a week or two ahead on all of my post.

5.) Who is your favorite Designer and why?
Rachel Zoe without question. Her pieces are timeless, fabulous, and expensive enough to keep me wishing I could own everything. But for now, the more affordable brands like Bar 111, LC Lauren Conrad, and BCBG dominate my closet.

I have made so many friends and met a lot of amazing people through blogging and Anna is definitely one of them.  Fash Boulevard inspires me to work extra hard on For All Things Lovely and how it can pay off in the end.  Thank you to all of my sweet followers and cheers to making friends in the blogging world! :)
Thanks Anna for allowing me to interview you--you're a doll!
Have a lovely day!
xoxo,
Meg
